History of Medical Data Institute
For more than twelve years, Medical Data Institute (MDI) has compiled and distributed complete medical product information to many health care providers like you. This information was originally created in 1987 on a microfiche-based system consisting of scanned catalog pages. This was highly regarded by home health care product retailers and distributors of medical equipment and supplies as it saved a great deal of filing space and product research time.

Eventually, this information was distributed on diskette (MDI’s EPIC system), but with the advent of CD-ROM and its vast storage capabilities, we expanded our services in 1992 with our industry-innovative Epic Plus program.

In 1999, a redesigned and enhanced Epic Plus became just one of four products in MDI’s new ProfitBuilder Suite™ of product research and marketing tools. In the ProfitBuilder Suite, we also included our PromoPublisher “do-it-yourself” publishing CD-ROM, our quarterly MDI Bulletin publication, and our research service for up to 20 free product searches per year.

Company Resources
Due to the company's growth in personnel and technical resources, in 1995 Medical Data Institute moved to a new building twice the size of their previous location. MDI's resources include professionals in the areas of: data entry and classification, database management, manufacturer relations, account management, customer service, technical support and more. As MDI continues to grow, we will continue to help medical product suppliers meet the challenges of their information management needs and provide manufacturers with innovative, new ways to promote their products across the industry.
